A NEWSLETTER FOR CURLERS
The curling season is winding down. Two weeks of regular season play remain with playoffs beginning in some leagues and an extra week of games or a fun day/night scheduled for other leagues. Another season with COVID interruptions but congratulations everyone for persevering and a special thank you to each of the new members who joined us. It is great to have you with us!
DATES TO REMEMBER:
Annual General Meeting (AGM), Thursday, April 7, 9:00 PM
The AGM is held yearly and it is a chance for members to hear from our Board of Directors as they report on the happenings in the club over the past year as well as plans for the future. Elections will also be held to fill Director positions. Currently each Director position has a club member willing to be nominated and stand for election (!!) with the exception of the Special Events portfolio. If you would like information about that Board position, check it out with a Board member or shoot President, Earl Anderson an email This email address is being protected from spambots. Day of Champions, Saturday, April 9, 2:00 PM
The Day of Champions is the last day of curling for the season. There will be teams on the ice from the Monday night men’s league (winner of the pre-Christmas draw vs winner of the winter draw) and teams from the Skips Choice league in two games to determine the winner of A side as well as the winner of B side of that league. There will also be a game with our junior curlers as they show off their developing skills! That will be fun to watch.
This is day is a “member day”, a chance for all members to drop in, see some curling, visit with other members and chat about what’s up for the summer. Food (pizza) will be available for all and…the bar will be open!
